Please send feedback to Shelley Rose at shelley.rose@csuohio.edu.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<h2>HIS 693 Course Description<\/h2>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div>\r\n\r\nDeveloped for history graduate students and social studies educators looking for additional content courses or graduate credit, this remote graduate history course focuses on place-based learning, connecting Cleveland history to world history in the nineteenth &amp; twentieth centuries. Drawing on historian Tiffany Trimmer\u2019s concept of <a href=\"https:\/\/worldhistoryconnected.press.uillinois.edu\/15.3\/trimmer.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u202frelatable world history\u202f<\/a>, this course will focus on historical events, individuals, and networks that connect local history to broader world history narratives. Examples include, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clevelandmemory.org\/glihc\/glexpo\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u202fCleveland Great Lakes Exposition in 1936 &amp; 1937\u202f<\/a> as a lens into the international world\u2019s fairs of the 19\u202fth\u202f and 20\u202fth\u202f centuries; Cleveland philanthropist Cyrus Eaton, a Rockefeller prot\u00e9g\u00e9e who inserted himself into conversations about the dangers of nuclear weapons during the Cold War.
