Place-Based Activism: A Spatial and Chronological Analysis

Women’s peace encampments started with the Greenham Common in the United Kingdom. Women and other activists who heard about or visited the Greenham camp then sought other means to engage in place based protest against nuclear weapons. This resulted in women’s camps at the sources of production, testing, storage and eventual deployment.
