13.4 Service Delivery Areas

Nonprofit management offers a wide range of service delivery areas for individuals seeking careers that align with their interests and values. These areas allow professionals to focus on specific societal issues while contributing to the greater public good. Cleveland and Northeast Ohio, with a rich and diverse nonprofit sector, provide numerous examples and opportunities across different fields.  

Community Development & Housing

In this area, nonprofits work to improve neighborhoods and provide affordable housing solutions. In Cleveland, organizations like Cleveland Neighborhood Progress and the Cleveland Housing Network focus on revitalizing urban areas and providing affordable housing to low-income families. Neighborhood Connections supports grassroots community development initiatives, helping to empower local residents. Careers in this sector may involve urban planning, community organizing, housing program management, and working on projects that enhance neighborhood infrastructure and improve quality of life.  

Health & Human Services

Nonprofits in health and human services provide essential care and support to vulnerable populations.
