PART VI – SERVING ABROAD

In addition to careers at home, public service also extends across borders. Many students are drawn to opportunities that let them serve abroad. Opportunities include (a) protecting our national interests through military service, (b) representing the United States in the foreign service, and (c) working in international development, whether for a federal government agency or an international nongovernmental organization to address global challenges.

These paths demonstrate how government and nonprofit service can take on an international dimension.
