Guide: Embed a Map on Pressbooks
- Prepare a chapter or page where you want to post your map. Be sure to click save or create.
- Go to https://www.google.com/maps/
- Navigate to the location you want to embed. Be sure to zoom in to your desired view and that all the layers are set as you want them to appear on your site.
- Click the “share” button in the map menu.
- In the “Share” box choose “embed a map.” Confirm that the map shown is the one you want to embed.
- Click “Copy HTML”
- Return to the editing screen of your Pressbooks page.
- Click on the tab “Text” next to “Visual” in your screen.
- When in the “Text” editor, paste the HTML from Google Maps in the desired location (see above)
- Click back to the “Visual” view to confirm the HTML renders your map. Save.
