- Describe the absolute location and relative location of the space
- See the section on location here for reference: https://www.opengeography.org/ch-1-intro-to-geographic-science.html or https://slcc.pressbooks.pub/physicalgeography/chapter/1-3/
- Give GPS coordinates of the location or include a Google Map (https://www.google.com/maps/about/mymaps/). If you are new to creating Google Maps, visit this tutorial page.
Place
- Include and cite a definition of place. See Open Geography Education, https://www.opengeography.org/ch-1-intro-to-geographic-science.html , Andrew Jones, Human Geography: The Basics or Harm de Blij, Power of Place
- What is the meaning of this location? Think about its significance in terms of human geography. (cultural, historical, political, and economic identity of the location)
Environment
- Analyze the context of the location (what is in the surrounding area? are there important physical features that help define the space or place meaning?)

- Think about including a map of your location and its context (Suggested tools: Google Maps, Google Earth, StoryMaps)
Change over Time
- Be sure that you analyze and show your understanding of change over time in this location. For example, the Cleveland Trust Company building downtown is now occupied by a Heinen’s Grocery store. (see https://clevelandhistorical.org/items/show/761) The building remains in the same absolute location, but the use of the space has changed over time.
