  2. Review this PowerPoint slideshow (updated in August 2021)  Maps 101 Slides. 
  3. Answer the questions in the “Maps 101 Slides” and post answers as directed by your instructor. Bring your map to class or post an image or link to the map you choose as well.

  • What is the subject? How can you tell?
  • What type of map is it?
  • What is type of scale is included?
  • Who is the cartographer?
  • What year was the map published?
  • Who is the audience?
  •  What is the purpose? How can you use it?
  • Describe how you would  teach someone to use your map- be specific
