Book Information

Book Description

“From Across the Pond ” is the intimate story of Peter Almond, a young British journalist who immigrated to Cleveland in January, 1970, and worked at The Cleveland Press newspaper until its demise in June, 1982.

It is a story that uniquely details the history, personalities, politics, issues and passions of North East Ohio – from an outside observer of the serious, to the light hearted, to the tragic; tied together by memory flashes and video links. Almond’s stories of Cleveland in the 70s range across the American experience, but focusses on Cleveland – to which he sends this love letter from London.
