Description

Turquoise faience marsh bowl fragment decorated with black line work of lotus flowers. The edges are fragmented, suggesting it was once part of a larger piece. There is an accession number written in red on one of the raw edges of the fragment.

Fun Fact

Ancient Egyptians made faience out of crushed quartz, not clay. This material was mixed with copper to produce its blue-green pigment.
