For those who wish to know, the authors have consulted: Cleveland Public Library, Western Reserve Historical Society, Archives of the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland, Archives of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, countless interviews with Irish immigrants and their children (the contents of which are in the possession of the authors). Andrew Greeley’s books “Most Distressful People” and “The American Catholic – A Social Portrait” have been given special attention.
