About the Author

Dr. Abdullah (Apo) Oguz (oʊ−uːz, Oh-ooz)  is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Systems at Monte Ahuja College of Business at Cleveland State University (CSU). He was an Assistant Professor of Management Information Systems in the School of Business at Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) between 2022 and 2024, and a visiting lecturer at CSU in 2020 and 2021.

Dr. Oguz graduated from the Ph.D. program in Information Systems at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) in 2020. His Ph.D. dissertation is “Workplace Cyberbullying in Global Virtual Teams”. He earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from the School of Political Sciences (Mülkiye) at Ankara University (Turkey) and received his MBA degree with a concentration in IT Management from Southern New Hampshire University

Before starting his Ph.D. program, he had worked at the Turkish Customs Administration for 12 years. Dr. Oguz was a senior member of the Project Management Office within Directorate General of Customs Enforcement, which managed EU-funded projects having a value of more than $60 million between 2006 and 2016 as well as nationally-funded and bilateral projects. Specifically, he was responsible for planning and managing projects with a view to enhancing the law enforcement capacity of the Turkish Customs Administration.

He has been a Project Management Professional (PMP®) credential holder since 2014. 

His research interests include workplace cyberbullying and cyber deviance, utilization and impact of Artificial Intelligence, project management, and the effects of IT use on social well-being. His research has been published in the journals such as Journal of the Association for Information Systems, Internet Research, Organizational Dynamics and Journal of Information Systems Education, and conferences.
