Chapter 9 – The Governor & Other Executives

9.16 Treasurer of State

The treasurer of state is Ohio’s chief financial officer and manages the state’s money on a daily basis. The office collects tax revenues, deposits them into state accounts, and oversees how those funds are invested. The treasurer is also responsible for managing the state’s debt by issuing bonds and tracking repayment.

In addition, the office provides financing tools to local governments and runs programs that teach financial literacy to Ohio residents.
